Day 3 in Korea - Great Dinner and Busy Myeondong

After the Everland visit, we proceeded for dinner. The only seafood buffet in our trip in Sea & More. It's modern very clean place. Julie didn't introduce its wide range of seafood available but lamented about how delicious was the marinated raw beef. I tried once and it was nice. Then again, raw beef was not our likings.

Dinner place
Very nice interior

There were basically seven stations in all. The main, (seafood, meat and salad) , chef-grilled meat, Japanese, (drinks and fruits), Korean and dessert stations. Their medium raw beef was very nice. Melted in my mouth. One could only have one order each. I took a chip on the table and put it at the chef-grilled station. The waitress would bring it to the table when it's done.

Table 32 was my dining table
The medium raw beef. Blame my poor picture taking skill for the bad picture.
All kinds of tea were available

Dessert station - most of the cakes were moist and I don't mind paying for any of them.
Main section

Snow crab claws? Dry and bland. Not suggested.
No room for satay though it looked tempting
Wife asked why even potato also needed to be taken picture?
Must try the shells and the chicken wings!
Kimchi sushi with brown rice!
The main section which was nothing to write about. Fried mee, sorted vegetables and the likes
Spicy fried small crab. I ate a lot of them

There's another fruit that we never tried before. The yellow melon. It was so out-of -this-worldly sweet. We even ate the outer skin! Though I wish I can compare it with the Malaysian melons. I can't because it was too good. Must must try one.

After dinner, we checked in Seoul Sejong Hotel which was very near to the shopping place, Myeongdong. As soon as we put in our bags, Wife and I walked towards Myeongdong. We're that enthusiastic.

The room which we stayed in Seoul Sejong Hotel

The place was very brightly lit. It was 8.10 p.m. The place was packed with locals and many Japanese girls. And ladies too 8-)
The first view as soon as we walked into shopping area
Nature Republic was the first stop
There were promoters trying to lure customers with free gift (mostly facial tissue) into their shop. When we finished window shopping in Nature Republic, we felt bad for not buying anything. Felt awkward of whether to give back the gift. But eventually, as we entered more shops, and more facial tissue, we got used to the free gifts (facial tissue!) and actually felt the promoters should handed out facial mask to get our attention. Facial mask normally sold for 10 000 won for 10 pieces. Try to imagine the value of 1000 won as RM1. If they want us to go to their shops, they should have better marketing tactics.

We walked for two hours. It's a let down because we expected to see many snack selling stalls. But there was hardly any. Then again, it's Chuseok time. Their main festival of the year. And most probably they were still having holiday.

Wife thought of having the odeng (fish cake boiled in hot water) but we're still full after the buffet.

It's been an eventful day. And we walked back to our room for a good night sleep.

Day 3 in Korea - Everland

Wife had been doing all the packaging every night so that we didn't need to rush the next morning. After getting ready for the day, we checked out as we would be heading for Seoul. Breakfast was at a nearby Japanese restaurant. I was hoping to eat at the Holiday Inn's restaurant. A bit disappointed as the previous hotel breakfast was awesome.

Breakfast place
We had Udon with fried breaded meat. It was nice but it's easily available in our country. Julie bought some instant Korean coffee for us to try.

What you saying?

Breakfast

Outside the restaurant.
The convenience store
After breakfast, we embarked for almost 3-hour journey to Everland, one of the famous Korea theme parks. Wife was asking if we're going to ride the T-express, a very scary roller-coaster ride. I couldn't even open my eyes while riding the very small roller coaster in Genting Highlands and Universal Studio Singapore!

Bye bye Alpensia
Our tour bus
An hour later, we had stopped for toilet break. Julie suggested we had the red paste pastry. We're looking high and low for it and didn't see any "red bean" sign. We ended up buying Walnut Cake which was actually the very item that was suggested by Julie.

Pay first and wait for your order

Walnut shape with red bean paste for its filling. About RM0.80 each.
By the time we reached Everland, it was almost mid day. It's quite late and we only had 5 hours in Everland. Quite short as most of the rides' waiting time were at least an hour each.

Julie gave us a comprehensive details of the rides in Everland but I couldn't understand much. However, one of the most regrettable event that we missed was the procession in Everland. There was only one show and we missed it. One of the tour members said that they didn't know about the procession as well until they heard a loud band's playing music. Lee should had at least informed us earlier one. Julie should had gave us the Everland's map a day earlier so that we could plan which routes we should follow.
Julie with the attendant at the entrance

Heroes in a 4D show.
We only managed to get into six attractions. The last one being the huge Merry-Go-Round. Everland was a huge theme park and 5 hours were too short.
Amazon Express. Waited at least 30 minutes but the ride itself was around 5 minutes
A long wait for a 5-minute ride

Long long wait
It was a good ride nonetheless

Taste was so-so.

T-Express at the back

As we were buying some snacks, we heard band's playing. By the time, we reached the place where the music was, the place was almost empty. The procession had just finished. We were so kecewa. If you have the chance to go Everland, check and double check the time for the grand procession!

Halloween theme.
At the Rose Garden

Pumpkins everywhere

Looks bad right. Kecewa.. kecewa

Taste like Dr. Freeze

Do you dare to ride on it?
With only an hour to go, we went into a 3D show. It's really bad. But there were many kids around. And they were very responsive to the announcer in front of them. I'm not sure Malaysian kids would be that loud. Probably, the children would be looking into your eyes. Blankly.

Interactive show before the 3D show. You should hear the loud noise made by the kids!

Nothing much to buy. We were looking for a souvenir to bring back home but couldn't find anything worth buying.

Good bye Everland.

There were some stalls selling snacks and a convenience store outside Everland. We bought Banana Milk but still the taste was like candy.
